Our Community

Serving others is an important part of who we are. These are some of the organizations that have been served by members of the team, either individually, or as a part of our team’s effort to make a difference in our community.


New Horizons

Jeff and his team are actively involved with New Horizons - a non-profit organization founded in 1979 and dedicated to providing food and shelter to people in need in Manchester, NH. Additionally, New Horizons also offers supportive services to the homeless to help them achieve self-sufficiency. As part of Families in Transition, New Horizons operates an adult homeless shelter, a soup kitchen, and a food pantry. Jeff and his team regularly donate and volunteer to serve meals at New Horizons.


American Heart Association

Since 2013, Jeff, his team, and our Northern New England Northwestern Mutual family have partnered with the American Heart Association-- New Hampshire to help raise money to combat heart disease and stroke in our community. Jeff served as the Chair for the 2013 NH Heart Walk, and the team continues its involvement by actively participating in this annual event.


NHSPCA

Jeff and his team support the New Hampshire Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NHSPCA) located in Stratham NH. Founded in 1872 the New Hampshire SPCA is the oldest organization of its kind in the state, and one of the oldest in the nation. The NHSPCA serves people and pets from across the state of New Hampshire through its programs, which include pet adoption, pet behavior training, humane education, animal cruelty intervention, low cost spay/neuter clinics and much more.


Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce

The Greater Manchester Chamber (GMC) is the largest chamber in New Hampshire, representing nearly 1,000 businesses. Incorporated in 1911, the GMC focuses its efforts in the Manchester and its surrounding communities. It is an independent, not-for-profit business organization seeking to be the voice of business, shaping economic success to enhance the quality of life in the Greater Manchester area.


Manchester Community Music School

Manchester Community Music School, provides quality musical instruction and performance opportunities for students of all ages. The Music School is home to nearly 50 of New England’s finest music educators and over 1,200 students from across New Hampshire. The Music School is also the largest provider of Music Therapy Services in the State. In recognition of the work he and the Northern New England Northwestern Mutual Family has does with Manchester Community Music School, Brad Alderfer was awarded the 2014 Community Service Award by the Northwestern Mutual Foundation.
